One day, I was talking to my beloved boyfriend Gordo and the topic of Christmas gifts came up. Well, him and I are similar in the sense that we love homemade gifts. We came to the conclusion that for our friends and family gifts, candy is the way to go. What is more delicious and special than a big bag of goodies made with love, am I right? One of his aunts makes a mean chocolate-coated pretzel (but that'll be saved for a different day).
I wanted to test my candy skills with the basic; Jelly. These sweet drops of gumminess is the staple of my candy-addiction. Jelly Belly's were the thing in my kid years.
Starting out with two styles of making them: The classic candy making process that requires a candy thermometer, or the hard way. The easy way is with a recipe I found on YouTube by a lovely man named Todd. Comparing the two styles will help figure out if I can go the easy way or the hard way in my candy adventures...
I'll update the progress as I test out the recipes. For now, here's the plan.
